Not recommended, by the way. Occasionally I don't get prescriptions refilled promptly. You know how it goes, you think about needing a refill while the office is closed, and forget all about it when they open. It is my fault usually, but not this time.
Friday I rememberd (finally) to call in a prescription that needed renewing. I usually take care of this while I'm at the doctor, but I didn't think about it when I saw the dr two weeks ago. I called in the late morning and after being passed around a couple of times I get transferred to the refill answering machine. I give my information and trust that they'll call in the meds. I ran out on Saturday, but I had a couple of old pills (weaker dose) left over so I was good until Sunday. I called the pharmacy and found out that eeeek! There was no prescription to pick up. I spaced out the low dose pills and hoped for the best. I called the dr back Monday and when I said I had left the message on the machine, the nurse snorted. Very encouraging. They called in the meds and I finally started back up on Monday night.
To make a long story short, I was suffering all the nerve pain and fibro pains from Monday through Wednesday. Finally this morning (Thursday) I got up and felt like myself. If there was ever any question whether Lyrica does anything to help me, it's been answered now. Not the way I would prefer to learn.
Needless to say, I will be taking care of all my prescriptions with that office in person from now on! You'd think that they'd pay a little more attention to patient meds at a pain clinic.
I tried to post this the other day, but there was a technical problem.
I saw the pain doctor Friday and the MRI report didn't find much new. A small annular tear may be causing my neck to hurt worse, but nothing major has changed since my last exam. At least I'm holding steady.
I wish everyone a happy new year. It sounds as if we will be having a warm one.
It has been a while since my last post. Things have been going along about the same. I'm getting a little work done and trying like crazy to keep my energy level up.
I adopted a young dog the other day. I'm not really sure what I was thinking, but he has a lot of energy. Maybe it will rub off on me.
I'm off to the doctor today.
This morning I have a meeting with a special doctor. This one has be a bit on edge, so I think I'll write about something else after just mentioning it. Sometimes when I am trying to not be stressed, I read a lot:
I've been reading several books in the genre of vampire romance. I really enjoyed "Undead and unwed" by MaryJanice Davidson. It was a nice mix of romance, comedy and supernatural fiction. This is the first book in the series. The unusual events surrounding Betsy's awakening as a vampire seem to indicate that she is the queen the legendary texts spoke of coming to rule the vampires. Betsy's not sure she wants anything to do with them.
Next I read Dead as a Doornail, by Charlaine Harris. Again, a wonderful series about Sookie Stackhouse, a waitress who can read minds and has many dealings with the local vampires and other supernatural creatures. In this world, the announcement that the Japanese had created synthetic blood led to the announcement that vampires were amongst us and demanded their civil rights.
I'm listening Dark Demon by Christine Feehan now. I'm not far enough into the book to know whether I like it or not. It has potential.... I'm reading "Living dead in Dallas" another Sookie book by Charlaine Harris.
